    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • ** - Raw beef patties were observed to be improperly stored beside raw vegetables. Please ensure that that raw meat is not stored above or beside any vegetables, cooked foods, and/or ready-to-eat foods in cooler storage.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • ** - the outdoor food storage room contains items that are not required for the operation of a food facility. Please remove from the premises: ie. child car seat, tires. The storage room is very cluttered and items were observed stored on the floor -sabotaging efforts to maintain daily sanitation (required) and to conduct effective pest control monitoring.
    • 08. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Non-Critical)?
      • ** - Spatula was stored in an unsanitary manner: was observed stored between the grill pan and the table - an area that cannot be accessed to clean and sanitize. ** - A bowl used as a scoop with no handle was found with the dirty high contact surface in contact with food/sugar (container in the dry storage area). Use a handled scoop to denote which area hands should touch to prevent accidental contamination and store the scoops in a manner in which the handle does not come in contact with the food ingredient (Ie. outside of the container).
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • ** - weatherstripping was in poor repair at the back door – holes/gaps observed would allow for potential pest entry.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • ** - one chest freezer in the outdoor food storage room top lid was in extreme disrepair: duct tape was used liberally to repair the broken lid. Immediately cease and desist the use of tape (any kind of tap) to repair food equipment. Tape does not meet the requirements of smooth, cleanable, non-absorbent, and durable. Furthermore, broken items in which pieces of broken material may enter the food chain accidentally should be repaired to prevent that type of contamination.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • ** - The outdoor food storage building requires cleaning and decluttering. Build up of dirt, debris, garbage, and grime was observed on all cold holding units such as the walk in freezer door/handles/walls/floor, the chest freezers exteriors (multiple), the floors of the room, the shelves within the room.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • ** - staff washroom was maintained in a poor sanitary condition – the toilet, the toilet base, the sink, the door, the door edges/frames, the light switch, and fixtures.

      • An ice scoop is observed to be sitting on the counter next to the 3-compartment sink in the front service area. Ensure that the ice scoop is stored within a clean container to help prevent contamination. The operator provided a clean container for storage during the inspection.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • The exterior surfaces of the freezers in the shed are observed with a buildup of grime. Ensure that the indicated equipment is cleaned and sanitized.
