      • The alkalinity measured 0 ppm. Please ensure that the alkalinity is maintained between 60-180 ppm at all times.

      • One of the two main drain covers for the whirlpool was cracked. This was pointed out to the front desk staff who then called their pool operator. The front desk staff was directed to close the whirlpool until the cover could be replaced.
    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • Alkalinity is not being measured and recorded on an (at least) weekly basis. Please ensure that the alkalinity is measured and recorded as part of the regular water chemistry tests.

      • The combined chlorine measured 0.82 ppm. The hot tub will need to be shocked to bring this value down. The alkalinity measured 44 ppm.Please ensure this value is maintained between 60 - 180 ppm at all times.
    • 09. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Critical)?
      • The air quality in the pool and hot tub area was very poor and smelled so strongly of chlorine that the inspector's eyes, nose and throat started to burn and had to leave the area. The front desk staff also indicated that they had smelled a strong chemical smell as well. They were asked to lock the door to the swimming area until the air quality issue could be found and fixed.

      • The pH for the hot tub is too high. The inspector kit was measuring 8.22 and "OR" which indicates that it is too high for the kit to measure (the kit tops out at 8.4). Please bring the pH down to within the acceptable range of 6.8 - 7.6. Ensure that no bathers use the hot tub until this level is reached and maintained.
