    • 17. Does the pool have adequate written policies, plans and posted rules and safety information to ensure that the pool is operating in a safe manner?
      • The facility lacked updated anti-entrapment plans. Submerged suction outlet was observed to be a distance of greater than 66 cm (26 inches) from the outside edge of one cover to the inside edge of the second cover on the same plane, a secondary anti-entrapment device was observed to be installed.Ensure that the anti-entrapment plans are completed and up-to-date. Provide the PHI with a copy of the anti-entrapment plans for review.

      • The anti-entrapment plans were unable to be reviewed. The maintenance manager demonstrated the secondary anti-entrapment device by testing the functional safety vacuum release system (SVRS) during the inspection.Ensure that the anti-entrapment plans are completed and up-to-date. Provide the PHI with a copy of the anti-entrapment plans for review.

      • HPC > 100 cfu/mL present in water sample.Inspector instructed the pool operator to superchlorinate pool water, then run water through for a full recirculation period at least 4 hours, readjust water chemistry and reopen. Operator has already submitted a new water sample by the time of the call. Inspector will follow up on the result of new sample.

      • HPC > 200 cfu/mL present in water sample.Inspector instructed the pool operator to shut down the swimming pool and superchlorinate pool water, then run water through for a full recirculation period at least 4 hours, readjust water chemistry and reopen. Operator has already submitted a new water sample by the time of the call. Inspector will follow up on the result of new sample.

      • Pool operator was unable to provide a copy of his pool operator certificate for review during the inspection. Operator indicated he had recently completed the pool operator course. Provide a copy of the completion certificate to the public health inspector.Update Aug 19, 2025: Maintenance manager indicated he was certified more than 10 years ago and has enrolled in a pool operator certification course to be recertified.

      • The turnover period was calculated at 8.9hours.Ensure that recirculation rate is maintained so that an amount of water equivalent to 100 percent of the water volume passes through treatment and is recirculated within 8 hours, for a swimming pool constructed before November 2006, where it can be demonstrated that the water quality can be maintained in accordance with the Pool Standards, July 2014.

      • The soap dispenser at the shower station was empty.Refill the soap dispenser.

      • A screw was discovered on the pool floor in proximity to the shower station, and additional screws were discovered behind the slide within the pool area.Operator removed these screws from the pool area during the inspection.

    • 07. Are the filtration, circulation and disinfection systems used to maintain water quality working properly (Non-Critical)?
      • The water circulation system lacked a flow meter. Obtain and install a functioning flow meter prior to opening the pool to determine the recirculation rate that is acceptable and complies with the Pool Standard. Ensure the flow meter is installed according to the manufacturing instructions. Note (Oct 9, 2024): facility operator has provided an invoice and manual for the flow meter. Operator states the meter will be received within the next week.

      • The anti-entrapment plan was observed to be outdated. Note: Updated plans for the anti-entrapment, safety and water quality incidents have been provided to the PHI. PHI review of the anti-entrapment plans is required.

      • The water circulation system lacked a flow meter. Obtain and install a flow meter to determine the recirculation rate that is acceptable and complies with the Pool Standard.
    • 10. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Non-Critical)?
      • The circulation plumbing system did not clearly label the direction of water flow. Label the circulation direction of water flow and provide the PHI with the written plumbing schematics detailing the plumbing design of the pool and whirlpool. Including the water circulation and treatment systems, waterslides and list described in the Information to Support a Public Pool Permit Application document. The document and link was provided via email with the inspection report.

      • Facility operator did not have a valid pool operator certification. Facility operator stated he is registered to take the course on October 9-10, 2024.Ensure there is atleast one trained pool operator.

      • Water chemistry testing was incomplete. Ensure water chemistry testing and records are completed

      • The anti-entrapment plan observed was outdated. Provide an updated anti-entrapment plan of the pool to ensure there is an adequate anti entrapment device installed in the pool. Additionally, ensure that all safety and water quality incident plans are updated.
