      • Employees’ personal items, including coats, gloves, and hats, were stored next to food items on the syrup storage shelves. These were relocated by the staff member. Personal items must be stored separately from food to prevent contamination.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Scoops without handles were stored directly in several food bins. Please obtain scoops with handles and store them upright to prevent the handles from contacting the food.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • An accumulation of grime was observed on the floor of the receiving bay. This area must be thoroughly cleaned and maintained to ensure a sanitary environment.The floor underneath the storage shelves in the walk-in freezer had an accumulation of dirt and/or food debris. This area must be thoroughly cleaned to prevent contamination.

      • Two utensil holders in the middle food prep area were observed to with a buildup of food debris and/or grime. Ensure utensils are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. The operator cleaned and sanitized the utensil holders and the utensils during the inspection.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • 1. A buildup of grime was observed on the exterior surface of the walk-in freezer door near the handle. 2. A buildup of grime was observed on the light switch in the staff washroom. 1-2. Ensure that the indicated areas are cleaned and sanitized.
