    • 02. Has the operator notified the RHA of the existence of a personal service business, including contact and location information, as well as all personal services currently offered or new personal services that will be offered for facilities and/or special events?
      • (1) A PSN (personal services notification) was submitted by the operator today, Monday, April 8, 2024.
    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • (1) There were no written procedures. The operator completed the Written Procedure for Accidental Skin Cuts or Punctures.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • (1) Some of the hairbrushes in the storage unit had hair in them. Ensure all items stored in the service area are clean unless they are being kept in a designated dirty bin.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • (1) The proper steps were not being used for disinfection of tools. Barbicide was used prior to washing tools.* Ensure Barbicide solution is made fresh daily according to label instructions. Tools must be washed with soap and water, rinsed and dried prior to being disinfected for 10 minutes in the Barbicide solution. Rinse tools after immersion in Barbicide prior to use on client.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • (1) The bleach containers were not labeled. Ensure all containers where bulk items are dispensed into are properly labeled to identify the contents.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • (1) Some chemical products were expired. The Baby Bum hand sanitizer had an expiration date of 2022 August. The Lysol disinfectant spray had an expiration date of 30/11/22. The Andis Cool Care plus did not have an expiration date. The rubbing alcohol had an expiration date of 2023 August.
