      • There was no written procedure for accidental skin puncture - template provided. Please ensure this written procedure is displayed in the reprocessing area and all staff are familiar with it. Reprocessing sink was also used by the employees to wash hands - either handwashing must be done at the second sink available for handwashing only or if reprocessing sink is used for handwashing, written procedure for dual purpose sink is required. Template provided.

      • Single use disposable items such as sponges and nail files were not discarded after each use - left in some of the drawers at workstations. Please ensure single use items are discarded after each client.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Reusable instruments were not fully submerged in the disinfectant. Please ensure reusable instrument are fully submerged in the disinfectant.

      • No paper towels were available in the dispenser. Corrected onsite.

      • 1. Test strips in the reprocessing area were expired. Please ensure that valid test strips are available for testing disinfectant.2. High-level disinfectant in the reprocessing area was expired. Please ensure that a valid disinfectant is available.3. Disinfectant logs were not being completed. A disinfectant log template will be emailed. Please ensure that logs are being filled out.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • An unknown product was found in the eyebrow tinting and waxing room and was disposed of onsite. Please ensure that all cosmetic products are clearly labelled and approved for safe use.
