- Observation: Lighting tubes (glass) in the kitchen are not covered in shatterproof coverings. (Public Health Significance) - Exposed tube lights can physically contaminate the food by accidental of shattering of glass.
- Corrective Action: Ensure that all lighting tubes are enclosed in shatterproof covering.
- 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
- Observation: Sanitizer being used on the premises is not a food grade sanitizer. (Public Health Significance) Sanitizing solutions must be strong enough to destroy bacteria on surfaces to prevent the contamination of staff, clients or food on contact with the improperly cleaned surface.
- Corrective Action: Operator to change sanitizing solution to bleach solution and always maintain an effective concentration (100 ppm bleach).
