- The operator’s reusable equipment includes curettes and nippers.The operator currently stores dirty reusable items in a dry container and soaks them at home later.Please ensure enzymatic cleaner is brought with you, and is placed in soaking containers before placing dirty equipment in them. This will ensure the instruments remain soaking after use, allowing for easier and more effective cleaning.---The operator also performs a sterilization step in a pressure cooker–type, autoclave machine for medical device sterilization, after using HLD; however, it was discussed that this step is unnecessary. It is recommended that this step not be performed, as the device is not an approved sterilizer and the temperature cannot be verified, providing no guarantee of sterility and potentially introducing contamination.

- The operator explained that she cleans equipment with enzymatic cleaner, rinses with water, and submerges items in HLD5 for 5 minutes without drying prior to disinfection.Please ensure thorough drying of equipment before disinfection to prevent the possibility of diluting the HLD5 with water.---HLD5 is an approved high-level disinfectant, was not expired, and the operator had test strips capable of confirming it is at the sufficient concentration of 2% prior to each day’s use.The operator records this daily, and logs are maintained on site.
