- 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
- Pest activity was observed by the exterior door located at the back of the facility.Please ensure that the mouse droppings are carefully cleaned by spraying them with a 1:9 chlorine solution and allowing it to sit for five minutes. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves and a mask, to minimize exposure to potential contaminants. Please continue to monitor the pest activity and adjust the frequency of treatment accordingly.
- 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
- The flooring underneath the large standing cooler located at the back of the facility was observed to be in disrepair.Please install tiling underneath the cooler to ensure the floor surfaces are smooth, easily cleanable, and impervious to contaminants.
- 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
- Leftover protective adhesive stickers were observed on the surfaces of the rolled ice cream machines. The adhesive was peeling and trapping contaminates, making it difficult to clean and sanitize.Please remove the adhesive and clean and sanitize the unit.
