      • A high-level disinfectant (HLD) is required for disinfection of semi-critical equipment (i.e. comedone loop used for facial extractions). Purchase a high-level disinfectant (HLD). Most HLD’s have a 14 to 30-day reuse period but you must also retain proper indicator test strips and keep HLD logs. Obtain an appropriately size HLD tray that is large enough to disinfect semi-critical equipment in use.If desired, obtain an intermediate-level disinfectant to disinfect non-critical tools (i.e. tweezers used for waxing/threading services). Otherwise, ensure non-critical tools are disinfected with the HLD.
