      • Non-critical equipment, including combs and hairbrushes, was observed with visible dust and debris. The operator was advised to clean and sanitize these items regularly to ensure they are maintained in a safe and sanitary condition.

      • Non-critical items, including brushes, combs, and scissors were soaked in Barbicide; however, the disinfectant solution had not been prepared in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

      • High level-disinfectant (Preempt CS20) testing log was not being kept.Please note that high-level disinfectants must be tested each day used and records kept. A template will be sent with this report.

    • 14. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Non-Critical)?
      • Used single use nail buffers were observed at the manicure stations. The staff discarded the buffers during inspection. Please ensure single use items are discarded immediately after use and not re-used.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • It was observed that rubbing alcohol was being used to disinfect clippers. The operator was advised to acquire a proper disinfectant with low contact time. Different types of disinfectant were discussed with the operator during the inspection. The contact time for any disinfectant obtained must be maintained at all times. Note that if preempt CS20 must be used as a disinfectant, 20minutes contact time must be maintained.

      • High level-disinfectant (Preempt CS20) testing log was not being kept.Please note that high-level disinfectants must be tested each day used and records kept. A template will be sent with this report.

      • The handwashing sink at the front area was also being used for washing color mixing bowls. The staff stated that the washroom hand sink will used for handwashing moving forward and a no handwashing sign placed at the hand sink at the front area.
    • 33. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Non-Critical)?
      • Some beddings were being re-used for the client bed in the spa/waxing rooms. The staff was advised to use beddings as single use on the non-absorbent bed.Please note that the client bed must also be disinfected in-between client use.
