      • In accordance with Section 2.3 of the NS Food Retail and Food Services Code, you must keep all floors, walls and ceilings in food preparation, processing and storage areas in good repair. Observed some walls to have exposed dry wall. Repair walls so they are in good repair.
    • 19(2)(b) A food establishment must provide all of the following in accordance with applicable legislation or as considered acceptable by the Administrator: (b) adequately designed and appropriately located hand-washing facilities;
      • Observed no paper towels on the paper towel dispenser at the canteen hand wash station. Provide paper towels.
    • 23(1)(b) All equipment and utensils used to process, prepare, store, serve, sell or display food must be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to (b) allow adequate cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance.
      • Observed dishwasher no providing adequate sanitizer concentration. Repair dishwasher so it is providing adequate sanitizer concentration. Use the 2 compartment sink method until the dishwasher is repaired.

    • 18A A person must not begin to construct a new food establishment or renovate or expand an existing food establishment until construction plans and specifications are submitted to and approved by an inspector.
      • Observed a new cafe area in the main dining room. Provide a new floor plan to capture the new cafe area.
    • 19(2)(b) A food establishment must provide all of the following in accordance with applicable legislation or as considered acceptable by the Administrator: (b) adequately designed and appropriately located hand-washing facilities;
      • Observed no paper towel and no paper towel dispenser at the canteen hand wash station. Provide paper towel and a paper towel dispenser.
    • 23(1)(b) All equipment and utensils used to process, prepare, store, serve, sell or display food must be designed, constructed, installed and maintained to (b) allow adequate cleaning, sanitizing and maintenance.
      • Observed raw wood behind both hand wash stations. Paint/seal wood.
    • 33(1) An operator must ensure that the temperature of food is controlled so that the food does not deteriorate or become inedible or unsafe.
      • Observed ground beef being defrosted at room temperature. Ground beef was placed in the fridge at this time.
    • 8(2) A permit must be posted in a conspicuous location in the food establishment.
