- CURRENT DISPLAY OF DONUTS + TIM BITS BEHIND FRONT COUNTER AREA:Observed/noted the following:1) Donuts are currently being displayed in a enclosed display case on three (3) sides (front and sides) and is open at the back for Staff to access/handle donuts.2) Tim Bits/Cookies are currently being displayed behind the front counter area and on angled shelving and in metal wired baskets and lined with wax/parchment type paper.Although protected and situated to prevent the potential contamination from patrons, the current display method does not prevent flies and other insects from accessing and potentially contaminating these food items.Subsequently, our Department would encourage/recommend additional pest control measures to prevent insects from accessing and would suggest a physical type barrier such as openable doors for the donut showcase and a display case unit with openable doors/drawers for the tim bits/cookies.Finally, as a suggestion only, you may wish to reach out to your pest control company to see if they can offer any additional pest control measures to further prevent any potential contamination of food.

- 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
- At the time of inspection, the food handling permit posted on the wall expired on February 28, 2023 and no sign of the 2023 - 2024 food handling permit.Moreover, as per our data base, the payment for 2024 - 2025 permit year is still outstanding and balance is $175 - will inquire with the owner if the payment had been made and if the owner had received the 2023 - 2024 food handling permit.
