      • Food area is located in the basement of a residential home. A physical barrier is required to separate the food area from the adjacent stairway to reduce risk of contamination.
    • 10. Are food temperatures during storage and processing being controlled to maximize food safety?
      • Temperatures of both freezers were acceptable at the time of inspection. Thermometers are required in each unit to ensure ongoing monitoring.
    • 19. Does the facility have a valid permit and does the facility operate in compliance with the conditions of that permit, or is the facility awaiting approval prior to operation?
      • The facility was operating for over one year without a food handling permit as concerned with the City of Lethbridge issuance of a business license in October 2024.
    • 20. Do food handlers at the facility have adequate food safety training?
      • The operator does not have a valid food safety certificate; list of approved courses was provided.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • Shelving units are constructed from unsealed wood. All shelving surfaces must be smooth, non-absorbent, and easily cleanable to prevent contamination.
