- 46 An operator must not sell, offer for sale, supply, prepare, process, package, display, serve, dispense or store food that is contaminated or adulterated.
- Food with visible spoilage discarded at time of inspection. Continually monitor food in storage for signs of spoilage or contamination.
- 47(3) An operator must ensure that containers, materials, and procedures used for food packaging and labelling do all of the following:
(a) prevent contamination of the food;
(b) provide an environment that adequately controls contamination;
(c) protect the food from damage likely to make the food inedible.
- In accordance with Section 3.6.1 of the Nova Scotia Food Services and Food Retail Code, you must ensure food packages are in good condition and protect the integrity of the contents so that the food within is not exposed to adulteration, damage or potentially harmful contaminants.
