    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. The facility is diluting the high-level disinfectant and not following manufacturer's instruction of use for the high-level disinfectant to disinfect semi-critical tools. The diluted high-level disinfectant in the toolbox did not pass the test when tested with the test strips. 2. Pedicure basin is disinfected with Pre-empt CS20. According to the manufacturer's instruction for Pre-empt CS20, it is required to soak/immerse completely tools/ equipment etc. to disinfect. Pre-empt CS 20 is not intended to spray. Please follow manufacturer's instruction and use low or intermediate level disinfectant to disinfect the pedicure basins.Ensure the following:1. Please follow the manufacturer's instruction while using the high-level disinfectant.2. Please ensure tools are cleaned/disinfected appropriately:- Clean tools using water and detergent. Rinse and dry thoroughly. - Pour high level disinfectant (example: PREempt™ CS20) directly into soaking tray. DO NOT DILUTE. - Fully immerse tools in high level disinfectant. RINSE, DRY & STORE- Rinse tools with water and dry manually using clean cloth or disposable towel. Store in a clean container marked “DISINFECTED”3. If the high-level disinfectant is reused, ensure to use a test strip to verify the used disinfectant is maintaining the minimum effective concentration. Records must be kept for the date of tests (verification of minimum effective concentration), test strip results (pass/fail), dates when disinfectant was changed (for reuse period), and initials of the personal services worker who performed the activity.
