    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • Following observations were made regarding the handling and storage of reusable equipment:There was no clear distinction between cleaned and non-clean items. Items termed as clean by staff appeared to be dirty.Staff was instructed to store the clean and dirty tools and equipment separately in clearly identifiable containers to prevent cross contamination and accidental use of unclean products.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Staff was asked to describe the disinfection of reusable (Semi-critical) equipment:Staff member mentioned that tools are cleaned with soap and water and soaked directly is CS-20 for 15 minutes. then taken out of CS-20 and dried before used on clients.Staff was observed to be pouring expired High-Level Disinfectant in the container for soaking semi-critical tools (A new HLD bottle was available on-site with expiry date of 2026, staff was asked to discard the poured solution and refill with new solution).Discussed to follow the manufacturer's instructions for reuse period, contact time, expiry date and proper cleaning and disinfection method.1)Bring all the dirty equipment after being used on single client to re-reprocessing area.2) Wash them with soap and water, use brush to ensure that tools are cleaned properly.3) Rinse and dry the tools before soaking them in HLD (Cs-20) for 20 minutes.4) After the specified time take the tools out rinse, dry and store in closed containers (Labelled as disinfected).Operator confirmed that it is discarded every day please note that the solution is reusable for up to 14 days if validated with test strips.**It is highly recommended to use container with lids for soaking tools in HLD to minimize vapor exposure and prevent spills.

      • Sharps were observed in open glass container beneath the reprocessing sink.The staff was asked to store all the sharps in specified sharps container.Dispose sharps in compliance with the applicable local municipality rules.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Multiple cosmetic products at the pedicure carts were not labelled.Cosmetic products bottles appeared to be visibly dirty, and products were being topped off.Staff was directed to label all the cosmetic products and store them in clean containers.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Expired CS20 disinfectant was observed. Please ensure to check the expiry dates routinely in order to disinfect re-usable equipment's. Products that have passed their expiry date should not be used due to loss of effectiveness. Operator indicated that they will buy the High-level disinfectant asap and a follow up will be required.

    • 11. Is post-service care provided by personal service workers following any personal service or accident where a client's skin or mucous membrane is cut or punctured during a personal service, or when energy-emitting equipment is used?
      • Written procedures of blood and body fluids were not available on-site. Please have written procedure in an event of puncturing the skin of the client and how to clean equipments that came in contact with body fluids.
