    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • A water chemistry test was conducted together with another pool operator at 2 spots of the pool. The first spot close to the mechanical room: Free available chlorine level was at 2.77ppm and combined chlorine level was at 0.61ppm. The second spot close to the buffet dining area: PH was at 7.4. Free available chlorine level was at 2.75ppm and combined chlorine level was at 0.74ppm. Total alkalinity was at 121ppm. The readings on the ORP meter was at 735mv for ORP and 7 for PH. The pool operator used the same type of test kit (exact) as our office has been using to test the water chemistry and readings were still very different. The pool still remained closed. Ensure that an accurate test kit be obtained or it is hard to adjust the water chemistry. The operator advised that a new pool test kit has been ordered.

    • 16. Are proper testing, monitoring, and other records being properly maintained?
      • A water chemistry test was conducted together with the pool operator at 2 spots of the pool. The first spot close to the mechanical room: PH was at 6.8. Free available chlorine level was at 4.78ppm and combined chlorine level was at 1.03ppm. Total alkalinity was at 120ppm.The second spot close to the buffet dining area: PH was at 6.8. Free available chlorine level was at 5.05ppm and combined chlorine level was at 1ppm. Total alkalinity was at 66ppm. The readings on the ORP meter was at 747mv for ORP and 7 for PH. However, the pool operator used the same type of test kit as our office has been using to test the water chemistry and all the obtained readings were just slightly above 0. The pool operator reported that she used the other set of test kit and also got quite different readings when compared with the readings obtained from exact test kit. Discussed with the pool operator that free chlorine level should be lowered down to maintain the bather comfort. The pool was closed by the pool operator during inspection. Ensure that an accurate test kit be obtained or it is hard to adjust the water chemistry.

    • 09. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Critical)?
      • Chemistry tests were carried out with the pool operator at the same time but the readings on the same parameters were quite different. The pool operator once again expressed her concerns about her testing kit. The testing kit and reagents should be examined and ensure that accurate readings be obtained.

    • 09. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this pool (Critical)?
      • The operator advised that the testing kit did not provide consistent readings as the same tests tested at the same spot of the pool could have huge different readings within a 2 minutes interval. The testing kit and reagents should be examined and ensure that accurate readings be obtained.
