   • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
     • Barbering tools and equipment, including combs, brushes, clipper guards/attachments, and other hair-cutting implements, were not being adequately cleaned and disinfected between uses. The disinfectant solution (Barbicide) contained visible hair and debris particles settled at the bottom of the container and appeared dirty, indicating the solution had not been changed at the required frequency and may have been reused beyond its effective service life.Thoroughly clean tools prior to disinfection, prepare and maintain disinfectant solutions according to the manufacturer's instructions. Replace solutions as often as necessary to keep them clean and effective, and ensure all barbering instruments are properly cleaned and disinfected between clients.
   • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
     • Single-use applicators that had been used for waxing services were being stored inside the wax product container. Reintroducing used applicators into wax products can contaminate the wax with microorganisms and other foreign matter from clients, creating a risk of cross-contamination and disease transmission. The wax applicators were kept in a cabinet at a distance from the waxing station. Immediately discontinue this practice and ensure that single-use applicators are discarded after each use. Wax products must be protected from contamination, and only clean, unused applicators are to be used when dispensing or applying wax to clients.Store waxing applicators in a covered container at the waxing station.
   • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
     • Insanitary conditions observed throughout the barber shop. Hair clippings were observed throughout the work area, including the barbering workstation surfaces, inside the tool storage drawers, and all around the chairs. The floors were also visibly dirty and covered with debris, indicating inadequate housekeeping and maintenance. Thoroughly clean and sanitize the premises and maintain the floors in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
   • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
     • The storage/laundry room was cluttered with decorative items, empty beverage cans, and various unused materials not required for the operation of the barber shop. Spills and residue from drink cans were present on the floor, contributing to unsanitary conditions and impeding effective cleaning of the area. The accumulation of unnecessary items and clutter can harbour dirt and debris and prevent proper maintenance of the premises.Thoroughly clean and disinfect the floor of the storage/laundry room. Organize and store equipment and supplies in a manner that facilitates routine cleaning and maintenance. Discard all empty drink cans and remove any items that are no longer required for the operation of the barber shop. Maintain the storage area in a clean, orderly, and sanitary condition at all times.
