We ordered beef fried rice, beef chow mein, honey garlic pork and sweet and sour pork as well as the wonton soup for 2. Good size portions! We ordered one dish for each of us 4 dishes plus soup. The soup fed 4 of us 2 wonton each with veggies and alot of broth, every piece of pork was meat not any batter pieces. The rice was fried perfectly and the chowmein was so tasty. The service was on point as well and take out was busy and we knew that we made a great choice.

almond chicken and fried rice... heavy breading and thin layer of chicken ..looked terrible as if it was chicken spread... Offered me free desert ..said no .Give me the bill..Cost of dinner $19.00 they took half off.. Never go there again. I have picture Almonds in tiny pieces..not whole.

This is really good Chinese food. We got the chicken balls, almond chicken, chicken chow mein, and a strawberry shake. Looking at the other reviews I want to make a couple of comments. Everything was quite good. The shake was just ok, home made but not worth the price. A little better than McDonalds - the person who said it was the best shake ever must have been high. There was another review that said there was no chicken in the chow mein. They were wrong, but the chicken was quite finely cut so not the typical big chunks. There was a lot of finely diced veg in the chow mein and almost overpowered the noodles. That said, it was quite tasty. The two chicken dishes were on point, good sauce crispy and delish. Would chow here again.

Preferred their location when they were on the North Shore, but the downtown Nelson location makes sense for easier access to most locals and tourists I suppose. Chow mein is still among the best, but the sweet and sour pork seems to have slipped in quality a bit since years gone by. Overall, a solid destination if you are in the mood for North American style Chinese Food. They do have an outdoor patio as well, which would be nice on a warm, sunny day.

Best restaurant in the town. What an amazing food, we always go there atleast once in a week😍

This was my second time here. They disappointed me the first time as well, but I gave them another chance — big mistake. Chicken chow mein had almost no chicken even though the menu says pan-fried chicken. Asked for extra shrimp and got the tiniest shrimp imaginable. I’m a local and this is nowhere close to Chinese food. Street food is way better. Spent $60 and it was a complete nightmare. Never ever again. Do not recommend.

Absolutely delicious! We had the War Wonton soup, House Special Chop Suey, Chicken Chowmain & the Almond Chicken. Everything was cooked perfectly, no grease, crisp veggies - yum 👌 best we have had in years. This will be a stop whenever we come to Nelson. Service was fabulous. Thank you😊 See you again!

We ordered take out and it was really decent. The family menu for 2 had generous portions, a great mix of dishes and excellent value for money.

Very thankful they've reopened after relocating. It was a long time waiting. The food is as good as ever. Best Chinese food in the Koots.
