    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -In the Preschool room hall, the washroom labelled "Men" had a diaper change pad that was torn in the middle. Have this diaper pad replaced or repaired so that it is smooth, durable, impervious and easily cleanable.-In the Enhancement Room/EP Room, the blue, long haired area rug was dirty. Have this cleaned or replaced.

      • -The exit door at the Preschool Room had gaps along the bottom. Have weather stripping properly installed at these doors to seal off gaps and prevent entry of pests. Double check the work by looking to ensure there is no visible light shining through
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • -In the OSC, the electrical outlet along the large wall was not covered. Have this covered to prevent potential exposure to children.-The illness policy does states that children/staff with GI symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea are to be excluded for 24 hours. In your written illness policies update them so that it states that if a child or staff has symptoms of vomiting or diarrhea, they are to remain excluded from the daycare until they have been asymptomatic for at least 48 hours. This is to prevent potentially spreading illness unknowingly-The handwash sink in Toddler Room 1 was measured to have a hot water temperature of 52.7 degrees C. The hot water temperature must not exceed 54 degrees C, but it is recommended that it be maintained at 49 degrees C or less to prevent scalding and ensure comfortable handwashing. -It was indicated water temperatures for water fixtures were not being checked. For fixtures accessible to children, obtain an appropriate waterproof thermometer to regularly check temperatures and have a log for staff to record them.

    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -The chemical cupboard in the kitchen was not locked. Please ensure chemicals are locked/kept out of reach of children at all times.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -There was balled up paper towel on the ceiling of the boy's washroom. Please clean.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • The following outbreak measures were not being followed:- Natural items were observed in the Baby Room, OSC Room, Toddler Room and the Enhancement Room. Please dispose of all natural materials and replace them after the outbreak has been declared over.- Chlorine levels were inconsistent. The Toddler 2 Room was at 800ppm; The Baby Room was at 500ppm. Ensure the Chlorine level is at 1000ppm in all rooms- The sensory table was being used in the Enhancement Program Room. Please discontinue all sensory activities until the outbreak is declared over.- Plush toys were observed in the Toddler Room. Please remove all plush toys and play clothes until the outbreak is over.

      • -There was a container of chemical left on the floor of the washroom, accessible to children. The operator moved the container to the storage room at the time of inspection.
