    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • -A stroller was being stored in the accessible washroom. Please find another place to store the stroller. If this is not possible the stroller should be fully covered while in storage to protect from contamination.-There was a diaper mat in the Infant Room being stored on the floor. Please ensure it is hung up, out of children’s reach.
    • 21. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Critical)?
      • -The plumbing fixtures in this social care facility have not been installed properly. The tap in the upstairs boys washroom was not secured to the counter. Please secure.

      • The following were corrected at the time of inspection:-Blind cords were secured-Knives in the kitchen were moved out of children’s reach in the kitchen
    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • -There are hazardous areas, rooms, or conditions which are accessible to clients in this social care facility:* Please secure or remove the carpet from the OSC Room that is not secured to the ground; this is a potential fall hazard.*Please remove bingo dabbers from the Jr Pre-school Room that say “keep away from children” on the label
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • -Diapering is not being performed properly in this social care facility. Staff in the Toddler Room were observed rinsing paint cubs in the hand sink. In every social care facility where diaper changing is performed, diaper changing shall be performed completely separate from food and other activities. Please ensure that diapering sinks are used for handwashing only.-As discussed, please install a physical barrier between sinks in rooms that have both a diapering and a second sink.-There was a toy storage shelve stored in between the diaper table and the diapering sink in the Senior Toddler Room. Discussed moving this shelf as the entire diapering area should be considered unclean and is a high risk area for cross contamination.
