    • 201 - Critical Food contaminated or unfit for human consumption [s. 13]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) Observed that sliced cheese and sliced tomatoes have been stored in the refrigeration unit past the expiry date. Operator to ensure that every food item present on the premises should be handled and processed without the risk of spoilage.
      • Corrective Action: Staff voluntarily discarded the food items (cheese and sliced tomatoes) at the time of inspection.
    • 302 - Critical Equipment/utensils/food contact surfaces not properly washed and sanitized [s. 17(2)]
      • Observation: (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) No active sanitizer detected in sanitizer containers stored in the front (food serving area). (Public Health Significance) Sanitizing solutions must be strong enough to destroy bacteria on surfaces to prevent the contamination of staff, clients or food on contact with the improperly cleaned surface.
      • Corrective Action: Staff immediately replaced the sanitizer solution and it was measured at 200 ppm Quats. Change sanitizing solutions as required to always maintain an effective concentration (200 ppm QUAT).
    • 306 - Food premises not maintained in a sanitary condition [s. 17(1)]
      • Observation: Grease and debris build-up as well as broken tiles observed under the 3-compartment sink and behind the container for bread crumbs. All floors should be kept clean and in good repair to facilitate cleaning and sanitizing. Unsanitary conditions can attract pests and further lead to the spread of foodborne illnesses.
      • Corrective Action: Operator to ensure that the floors are cleaned and sanitized at an increased frequency to promote sanitary conditions and also get the broken tiles replaced.
    • 312 - Items not required for food premises operation being stored on the premises [s. 18]
      • Observation: Observed a non-operational meat freezer stored under the handwashing sink. An operator of food premises must not permit equipment or materials that are not required for the operation of the premises to be stored on the premises.
      • Corrective Action: Operator to ensure that equipment or materials that are not required for the operation of the premises not to be stored on the premises.
