      • Piercing equipment is on-site however operator stated they no longer offer piercing services. Remove piercing equipment.

      • Solution in soaking tray was tested and did not pass. Tray was refilled with new CS20 and passed.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Two bottles of CS20 and two bottles of Pre-empt RTU were expired. Discard these. Obtain new bottle of CS20.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Some bottles of cosmetic products were not labelled. Ensure all bottles are labelled.

    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Paper towel in washroom was not in dispenser. Ensure paper towel is in dispenser to prevent cross contamination.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • There was expired CS20 on-site. This was discarded during the inspection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Staff stated metal foot files were disinfected using alcohol. Foot files must be disinfected using a high level disinfectant (CS20).
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Some bottles of cosmetic products were not labelled. Ensure all bottles are labelled.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Tweezers and container where tweezers were stored in waxing room were dirty. Clean and ensure tweezers are properly cleaned and disinfected between clients. Tweezers must be stored in a manner that prevents contamination.

    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • New, non-expired CS20 is available in the facility, however, a soaking dish containing alcohol was found in the reprocessing area and the staff member onsite indicated that alcohol is used for disinfecting tools. Alcohol is not an approved disinfectant. Please ensure that PREempt CS20 is used to disinfect tools.

    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Used single use toe separators were found in the reprocessing area. Please ensure that toe separators, and other single use disposable equipment is discarded immediately after client use. The operator corrected this during the inspection and discarded the toe separators.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • Two bottles of CS20 were expired and PREempt RTU solution was expired as well.Please obtain new CS20 and PREempt RTU that is not expired.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • The Pedicure chairs footrests had nail polish markings from previous services. Client areas must be maintained in a clean and sanitary condition. Leftover polish on these surfaces can indicate insufficient cleaning of these surfaces. Clean and remove nail polish markings so surface is visibly clean.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Some areas in the facility need to be cleaned and organized. Waxing room #1 - waxing stations had a buildup of wax and debris and did not appear to be clean and organized. Hand sink in pedicure area - Hand sink countertop was dirty. Please clean these areas and ensure that the facility is maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
