What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on October 7, 2026. For example: Critical Improper Cleaning, Sanitizing of Equipment and Utensils

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on October 7, 2026. For example: Food Not Protected - General

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on October 7, 2026. For example: Operations and Maintenance/Other

    3 infractions

    • Critical Improper Cleaning, Sanitizing of Equipment and Utensils
      • Sanitizing step for manual ware washing is not being completed properly. Staff pour a cap of bleach in the blender, swirl, then empty. This doesn't allow for enough contact time to inactivate pathogens present on food equipment.
      • Steps for manual ware washing were reviewed with the operator. Moving onwards, ensure: 1. After detergent and rinse step, the sanitizer step is being completed via a full submersion of blender in the compartment sink. Ensure a minimum of 2 minutes for contact time.
    • Food Not Protected - General
      • Facility doesn't have test strips to validate chlorine concentration.
      • Acquire chlorine test strips to ensure regular concentration checks are being completed.
    • Operations and Maintenance/Other
      • Temperature logs are not being maintained for upright cooler/freezer unit.
      • Temperature log template was emailed to operator. Moving forward, ensure: 1. Readings are taken twice daily. 2. Have the logs available for review upon request, in future inspection. 3. Send picture of temperature logs in one week to show that temperature checks are being completed. Deadline: October 14, 2026. Comments Routine inspection completed. Action items: 1. Acquire chlorine test strips to validate concentration. 2. Print temperature log sheet emailed to complete temperature checks. 3. If you switch to regular household bleach at 5.25-6.12%, complete bleach-water dilution. 1 tsp per 1 litre of water. Comments: - 2-sink equipped with hot/cold running water and two sink plugs. - Hand sink equipped with hot/cold running water, liquid soap, and paper towels. - Bleach onsite registered at 200ppm chlorine residuals from the bottle. If regular household bleach is acquired, ensure proper dilutions are followed. - Freezer component: -14.9°C. Cooler component: 5.3°C.
