What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on June 15, 2026. For example: Food Not Protected - General

  • Building, plumbing and upkeepLower risk

Floors, walls and ceilings must be smooth and clean, with working lighting, ventilation, plumbing, hot and cold water, and washrooms. These are rarely an immediate food-safety risk on their own, but persistent problems can lead to pest or sanitation issues.

Recorded once on June 15, 2026. For example: Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on June 15, 2026. For example: Improper Sanitary Facilities

  1. Routine

    3 infractions

    • Food Not Protected - General
      • Dessert tongs are stored directly on top of the display cooler. This could present cross contamination risks.
      • Staff located a container to store the designated tongs.
    • Improper Sanitary Facilities
      • Back-end hand sink is still obstructed with shelving units. This obstruction prevents staff from washing their hands in the designated basin - creating cross contamination risks in the compartment sink. This is a repeat infraction.
      • Owner stated that shelves were ordered and will deliver around July 8. Forward photo confirmation of the shelves once installed - as to demonstrate the hand sink is no longer obstructed.
    • Improper Construction / Maintenance of Establishment
      • Front-end display cooler registered an ambient temperature of 10.4C. Staff mentioned that they are in the process of finding replacement parts.
      • Don't store high risk foods in this cooler. Forward updates to area EHO regarding its repair. Once repaired, contact the area EHO to schedule a follow-up to validate it can hold a temperature below 4C. Comments Routine inspection conducted.
