- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1) Stains were noted on the manicure station tables Clean these tables. 2) Hair and wax clump were observed on the bed sheet during this inspection. Staff was not changing the bed sheet after each client.Previous InpsectionWax stains were noted on the table fitted sheet. The fitted sheet was not changed after waxing. Owner stated that they placed paper on top of the fitted sheet, so they don't need to change it. Remove bed sheet and clean and disinfect table after each client. 3) Foot baths were not disinfected properly. Staff only spray the foot baths with Lysol only once. The contact time for the Lysol is 10 minutes; therefore, it requires multiple sprays (3x) to get the contact time on the surface.Provide PREempt RTU with 3 minutes contact time.4) Staff stools surfaces were torn, can't be cleaned and disinfected.Repair or replace these stools.Use high level disinfectant such as PREempt CS20 all waxing, manicure and pedicure tools. Use a low-level disinfectant such as PREempt RTU on surfaces. Follow the PREempt CS20 and RTU manufacturer's instructions.

- 1) Holes were noted on the waxing table.Repair or replace the waxing table. Waxing must be done on the table directly and clean and disinfect afterward or change bed sheets after each client. 2) Stains and debris on manicure table counters and drawers/cupboard doors. 3) Waxing on the shelf by the waxing pot. 4) Water damaged on the wall behind the reprocessing sink tap. 5) Broken wallpaper reprocessing sink.2 to 5) Clean these areas and repair the wall.6) Front sink is used for reprocessing and handwashing. There is no cleaning and disinfecting between these tasks. Clean and disinfect the sink before reprocessing equipment.

- 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
- 1) Reusing single use toe separators, jumbo wooden popsicle sticks. callus scrubbers and sterilization pouches.2) Used sanding bands for nail drill and nail files were found at the manicure stations.Discarded these items during inspection.Discard single use items after one time use.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- 1) Again, the owner used 70% alcohol to disinfect semi-critical equipment (mani/pedi equipment, and tweezers). This was instructed to the owner on October 5, 2021, that 70 % Alcohol is no longer acceptable.Tools were not completely immersed in the 70% alcohol.Owner ordered PREempt CS20 during inspection.2) Stains were noted on the manicure station tables 3) Wax stains were noted on the table fitted sheet. The fitted sheet was not changed after waxing. Owner stated that they placed paper on top of the fitted sheet, so they don't need to change it. 4) Foot baths were not disinfected properly. Staff only spray the foot baths with Lysol only once. The contact time for the Lysol is 10 minutes; therefore, it requires multiple sprays (3x) to get the contact time on the surface.Provide PREempt RTU with 3 minutes contact time.5) Metal drill bits were soaked in 70% alcohol. 6) Staff stools surfaces were torn, can't be cleaned and disinfected.Repair or replace these stools.7) Large metal foot file and callus removers can't not be immersed in the disinfectant container to disinfect. Remove item from the processing area if they can't be properly disinfected.Use high level disinfectant such as PREempt CS20 all waxing, manicure and pedicure tools. Use a low-level disinfectant on surfaces. Follow the PREempt CS20 and RTU manufacturer's instructions.
