      • Improper cleaning procedures were observed. Staff were cleaning surfaces and disinfecting without changing gloves or using the same rags. Please follow the "wipe twice" method:Use a two-step process to clean and disinfect surfaces.First, wipe surfaces thoroughly to remove visible soil.Then, wipe again with a clean cloth saturated with disinfectant to ensure proper disinfection.Ensure proper hand hygiene and glove-changing procedures are followed between cleaning and disinfecting.

      • Surfaces are not being adequately disinfected. There are rugs and other porous items that cannot be properly cleaned and disinfected still in classrooms. Remove all items from the classrooms that cannot be adequately cleaned and disinfected for the duration of the outbreak.Appropriate disinfectant is not available for use during the outbreak. A 1000ppm chlorine bleach solution will be used. Ensure these solutions are appropriately mixed, tested and available in each room to allow for adequate disinfection for the duration of the outbreak.

The bleach solution in the three bin system and in spray bottles measured at 100ppm.- During an outbreak a minimum of 1000ppm bleach/chlorine solution is required. Bleach will not be used for the duration of the outbreak going forward, Oxivir will be used exclusively. All toys, equipment and surfaces that had previously been disinfected with the inadequate concentration of bleach will need to be disinfected again with Oxivir.2. Oxivir is diluted onsite, there are no test strips available.- If a disinfectant is being diluted, test strips are required. Obtain test strips for the Oxivir product to verify concentration.
