    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • 1) Fossil Falls: Rice was observed in the classroom sink. Classroom sinks are not to be used for the disposal of food items or for washing dishes. Food waste should be discarded appropriately, and dishes are to be cleaned and sanitized using the kitchen dishwasher.*Sink was cleaned during inspection.2) Fossil Falls: The caulking around the sink was damaged and appeared moldy. The operator contacted maintenance, and the caulking was repaired during the inspection.3) Duct tape was being used to cover wires in the hallway leading to the playground. The duct tape was peeling, and dirt and debris had accumulated beneath it.*Staff cleaned the area and replaced the duct tape during the inspection.

      • Castle Falls: Evidence of water damage was observed around the window area. *Repair and refinishing of the affected surface.

      • Elbow Falls and Athabasca Falls: A gap was observed beneath both exit doors. *Repair: to prevent the entry of pests and debris. The operator created a work order for building maintenance during the inspection.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
      • All garbage bins in the classrooms were equipped with covers; however, they were not hands-free and required staff and children to touch the lids during use.*Replace the bins with functional foot pedals to promote sanitation, reduce the risk of cross contamination, and support proper hand hygiene practices.

      • Crescent room: A glass jar was found accessible to children. Please ensure all glass jars are stored securely and only used during supervised activities.
    • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Horseshoe room: Some blinds are missing in the classroom and need to be reinstalled. Please reinstall them. Horseshoe room: The art supplies cabinet is not closing properly. Please repair.Horseshoe room: Glue residue was found on the tables. Please scrub thoroughly and ensure all residue is removed for proper cleaning and sanitizing.
    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • 1. Athabasca room: The edges of the sleeping mats are in disrepair and expose the inner material. Please replace.2. Athabasca room: Children's personal bedding items were stored by separating with the center's blanket. This is not appropriate separation. Please ensure each child's bedding is stored separately without touching others.

      • Cleaning rags were placed on top of spray bottles or on counter. Please ensure the following:- cleaning rags are used only once and then disposed of or laundered. This prevents cross-contamination and bacterial spread. - place clearly labeled bins in each classroom for used rags.
