      • -The operator lacked the skills and knowledge to perform their duties in a safe and sanitary manner; they were not able to classify equipment as non-critical, semi-critical and critical; and they were not following manufacturer’s instructions.Consultation was provided.

      • Clean non-critical tools were kept in the same container used for storing contaminated tools.The operator was advised to keep two separate containers for clean and contaminated tools.

      • Pre-empt CS20 was available but was being used past the expiry date.The operator was advised to acquire at least a low-level disinfectant for disinfecting non-critical tools.

      • A spray bottle filled with a disinfectant (as mentioned by the operator) was not labeled.Please ensure appropriate labelling of the products available for use.

      • No disinfectant was available for environmental disinfection.The operator was advised to acquire at least a low-level disinfectant for environmental disinfection.
    • 31. Are sinks accessible and used appropriately for the personal services provided?
      • Handwashing was occurring in the sink used for reprocessing non-critical tools.The operator was advised to decontaminate the sink before and after reprocessing non-critical tools. The procedure for decontamination was also discussed with the operator.
