      • -Written procedures were not available for this facility. Please ensure written procedures are developed for: Preparation of Skin and Client Care.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • -Used single use gloves were observed inside the drawers of manicure stations. These gloves were single use and need to be disposed of after each use.- Porous or uncleanable equipment is not being discarded after each use. Equipment classified as porous or uncleanable must be discarded after use in one personal service on one client. There were single use pedicure packages observed but there was also a basket full of single use pumice. Please ensure pumice is discarded after each use.

      • -Linens were not being laundered after each use. Ensure linens are laundered after each use. The wax table was being used to store staff personal items and towels had visible debris on them. Ensure that linens on the wax table are replaced after each use. Client surfaces should not be used to store staff personal items.
    • 18. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Non-Critical)?
      • -Pedicure fans are not being disassembled for cleaning and disinfection. Several pedicure fans that were in the clean storage area still had debris inside. Ensure fans are disassembled and cleaned prior to disinfection.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • -Pre-empt RTU bottle had expired in 2022. Please remove/replace.- There was no high level disinfectant log for Pre-empt CS20. The disinfectant needs to be tested and results recorded each day that it is used.

      • -Scoops were being stored inside foot scrub, this could lead to the contamination of the bulk supply. Ensure scoops are disposed of after each use.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • -Nail stations had a visible build up of debris. Please ensure that nail stations are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition.
    • 30. Is the reprocessing area of a personal service facility that uses reusable equipment properly designed, managed and maintained to ensure the safety of clients?
      • - Reprocessing areas are not separated from incompatible undertakings. Reprocessing areas must be separated from incompatible undertakings, which include sleeping, dining, food preparation, routine employee and client traffic, and storage of employee personal effects. There was food in the tool reprocessing sink. This sink can only be used for tool reprocessing. Please address.
    • 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this personal services facility (Critical)?
      • -Re-useable dishes were being used to serve alcohol without proper dishwashing facilities. Please switch to single use disposable cups or install proper dishwashing facilities.

      • The facility is not keeping records for high level disinfection. The facility has been provided a template for recording high level disinfection information including: verification of minimum effective concentration, test strip (pass or fail), date of disinfection solution was changed, and initial of staff member completing the recording.
