- 1. Nail equipment: cuticle pushers, nail clippers, foot files disinfected with alcohol and bleach. Bleach and alcohol are not approved high-level disinfectants. High-level disinfectants must be used at all times on reusable semi-critical tools. 2. Eyelash extension tweezers were being disinfected with acetone. Acetone is not an approved disinfectant. A high-level disinfectant must be used at all times for eyelash extension tweezers. 1 & 2: obtain high-level disinfectant for the disinfection of eyelash extension tweezers and nail tools. Scrub tools with soap and water, rinse, air dry, disinfect with approved high-level disinfectant for indicated time, rinse, air dry. Disinfectant must be disposed of daily or tested with proper test strips daily and recorded in a log sheet on a pass or fail basis.
