- The sink in the nail area is used for both handwashing and equipment reprocessing. There was no written plan for decontamination of this sink. - Create a written plan for decontamination. Ensure the sink is available for handwashing during operation and is not used for both reprocessing and handwashing without decontamination in between.
- 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
- Single-use items such as wooden tongue depressors and plastic cups were found left in pots of body wax, paraffin wax, and body scrubs. - These items are single use and should be used once then discarded. Ensure single-use items are not re-used.

- Manicure and pedicure reusable tools had a buildup of rust on hard-to-reach areas. Reusable equipment must be maintained in a visibly clean condition to protect clients from contamination.- Clean all reusable equipment to remove rust. If rust cannot be removed, they will have to be replaced.

- Logs for testing reusable high-level disinfectant were not being completed daily. Daily logs must be completed to ensure minimum effective concentrations are maintained.- Complete daily log for reusable high-level disinfectant.

- 1) Pre-empt CS20 was being sprayed on semi-critical tools to disinfect them. This is not an adequate way to disinfect tools as they need to be submerged in the disinfectant for an appropriate contact time. - Semi-critical tools such as nail clippers and cuticle nippers need to be submerged in a high-level disinfectant according to manufacturer's instructions in order to be adequately disinfected. 2) No test strips were available onsite to test the concentration of the high-level disinfectant (CS20). - High-level disinfectants need to be tested daily with test strips to ensure that are at an appropriate concentration that will adequately disinfect tools. Please acquire appropriate test strips.

- 1) There was some scale buildup in the pedicure basins. Ensure the pedicure basins are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner. - Clean the basins to remove all scale and debris. 2) The facility requires more detailed cleaning. - Please clean the facility focusing on high-touch areas (door handles, taps, etc.), and hard-to-reach areas (behind equipment, drawers etc.)
