Handwashing sink maximum temperature in OSC/Kinder bathroom measured 58.1C.Ensure thermostatic mixing valves or a similar device is installed and the maximum temperature is adjusted to below 49C (43C recommended).

    • 17. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Critical)?
      • 1. The diaper change pad was resting against the wall next to the washroom sink. The diaper pad had cracks on the surface and therefore no longer in a smooth durable condition for cleaning and sanitizing effectively. * Replace the diaper change pad* Ensure the pad is up and out of reach of children ( hang up and away on wall)2. A dirt/mouthed toy bin was not located in the baby room.* Ensure to have a labelled dirty toy bin in the baby room.

      • 1. Walls/trim and high touch surfaces throughout the daycare were visibly dirty. A deep clean with hot soapy water is needed and then regular maintenance of such surfaces.2. Chipped paint/damaged walls, chipped window ledges covered in tape. Repair wall surfaces so that they are smooth durable and easy to keep clean. 3. Torn leather cushion on the floor in baby roomRemove the torn cushion.
