      • There were no written procedures for personal services.Provide written procedures for- cleansing of skin- accidental skin cuts/ punctures- handwashing and equipment reprocessing sink decontaminationTemplates for these written procedures were provided.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • A paper towel dispenser was not available.Store handwashing supplies in suitable dispensers by the handwashing sink.

      • 1) An instrument soaking tray/ container was not available for disinfection of reusable equipment.Provide an instrument soaking tray/ container of sufficient size and ensure that reusable equipment can be fully immersed in the disinfectant.2) Test strips were not available for monitoring the concentration of CS20. Provide test strips and monitor the minimum effective concentration daily for each reuse period.3) A high-level disinfectant log was not available.A template was provided. Record test results daily.

      • The white leather on the client bed was cracked and this area was outside of where the disposable bed liner covered.Properly repair or replace the client bed.

      • The reprocessing area did not have adequate space to separate clean and dirty equipment.Provide adequate space by the reprocessing sink to separate clean and dirty equipment and to facilitate a one-way flow from dirty to clean.
