- - 1. The cabinet under the hand sink in the blue room was missing a child safety lock, and there were chemicals stored within. ** Please install a proper child safety lock for the cabinet or relocate the chemicals so they are inaccessible for children.2. In the Purple Room, a spray bottle containing bleach mixed with water was not labeled.** Label all bottles containing chemicals to indicate its contents. **This was corrected at the time of the inspection. 3. In the Green Room, a spray bottle containing bleach mixed with water was not labeled to indicate its contents. ** Label all bottles containing chemicals to indicate its contents. **This was corrected at the time of the inspection.-

- -1. There was no plug covering the outlet located in the Purple Room beside the handwash sink. ** Please cover all electrical outlets with proper covers. 2. Playdough is being made with regular All-Purpose Flour.** Use heat treated flour, cornstarch, or commercially purchased playdough instead of all purpose regular flour. Please refer to the Arts and Crafts Safety document as provided via email for more information. -

- -1. Some of the backings of the shelves in the Orange Room were rough and not properly finished making it hard to clean.** Please apply a proper finish or install a new backing to the shelves so they are made smooth, non-absorbent to moisture, and easy to clean. 2. The wall near the sleeping cots in the orange room was chipped and damaged.**Repair the wall near the sleeping cots and ensure a proper finish is applied to the area. 3. There was a gap along the joint between the handsink and wall in the Blue Room. **Please caulk or seal along the gap and ensure the area is made smooth and easy to clean. 4. The washroom shared between the Blue Room and Purple Room had a bathroom vanity with a back panel—located under the sink closest to the classroom doors—that was water-damaged, stained, and slightly bulging.**Please determine the source of water causing for the damage and properly repair. Then, remove the water damaged materials, assess for any mould growth, remediate if necessary, and then replace with all new materials.-

- -1. There was no paper towel available in a proper dispenser at the handwash sink in the Orange Room, located beside the diaper change table.** Please ensure paper towels are available and stored in a proper dispenser near diaper change table hand wash sink. 2. In the Purple Room, only hot water was able to be turned on at the hand sink. When shifted to the cold position, there was no cold water being dispensed. **Please repair the faucet and ensure both hot and cold running potable water is available for handwashing purposes. -

- - Children are taken off-site from the program on occasion, and the first aid kits were missing some items such as a CPR barrier with a one-way valve, antibiotic ointment that is topical/single use, hand/skin cleansing towelettes, and emergency blankets. **Ensure the first aid kits are adequately stocked as per Appendix H in the Health and Safety Guidelines for Operators of Child Care Facilities (document as provided via email). -

- -1. In the washroom shared between the Blue Room and the Purple Room, there was a cracked toilet tank lid that was taped up. The toilet was located closest to the paper towel dispenser. ** Please replace the broken toilet tank lid with a new one that is in good repair. 2. One of the larger desks located in the Green Room had the edge material separating from the desk, creating a larger divot/gap where dirt/debris had accumulated within. ** Please properly repair or replace the desk. The surface should be in good repair and in a condition that renders it easy to clean. -

- - 1. The middle toilet in the washroom shared between the Blue Room and Purple Room was not flushing and it was closed for use with tape. ** Please properly repair the toilet in the washroom and ensure it is operating properly.2. There was no garbage receptacle directly near the handwashing stations across from the toilet stalls in the Green Room.** Please ensure a garbage receptable is stored near the handwashing station so used paper towel is disposed of properly. -

- There were push pins used on the walls of the classroom. The inspector informed the staff/operator that push pins cannot be used as they are prone to falling and be accessible to children. The push pins were removed during the inspection.
- 09. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) available in suitable location(s), and properly stocked with handwashing supplies?
- The paper towel in a handwashing station was not placed in a functional paper towel dispenser. The inspector informed the operator that all paper towels must be placed in a dispenser to ensure that the unused portion of the roll is protected from contamination. **PUT PAPER TOWELS IN A FUNCTIONAL DISPENSER.

- There was no soap and paper towel in the handwashing station. The staff/operator put soap and paper towels in the handwashing station during the inspection. The inspector informed the staff to ensure that the handwashing station is fully equipped/supplied with soap and paper towel at all times during operations.
- 32. Are general nuisance conditions, other than those noted in other violations, being prevented at this child care facility (Non-Critical)?
- Some paint and glue bottles did not have an AP (Approved Product) symbol. The inspector informed the staff/operator that all paint and glue products must have the AP symbol to ensure that these products were tested for non-toxicity to children. The products were discarded during the inspection.

- All toilet papers in all three toilets in the green room were empty. The staff replaced the toilet papers. The inspector informed the staff/operator that all toilet paper dispensers must be always checked to ensure that the toilet papers are replaced when empty.

- There were plush toys with non-removable electronic components insides, meaning the toys are unable to be properly laundered. These toys were found in the orange and purple rooms.REQUIREMENT: Remove any uncleanable plush toys from the daycare immediately.

- A light cover located in the bathroom of the blue room was not properly secured. The inspector touched the light cover while attempting to assess it, and the cover easily fell off. The cover was directly on top of a toilet where children could be seated.REQUIREMENT: Properly attach the light cover to the fluorescent light socket.

- The right handwashing tap located in the orange room has a maximum temperature of 52.1 C. The tap has a mixing valve which may have been altered unintentionally.REQUIREMENT: Adjust the mixing value and ensure the maximum hot water temperature does not exceed 49C.Operator is strongly recommended to check the hot water temperatures at the taps on a monthly basis.
