    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • 1. There was no soap at the hand wash sink.-Install soap in a dispenser at the sink.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. The electric clippers stored in the drawers were dirty with a large accumulation of hair on them and no disinfectant was seen in the salon for disinfecting the clippers.-Obtain a disinfectant for disinfecting electric clippers and clean and disinfect the clippers after each use.2. There was debris floating in the barbicide solution.-Change the barbicide solution on a daily basis.3. The hair brushes stored in the drawers had a large accumulation of hair in them.-Clean and disinfect brushes after each use.4. The bottle of disinfectant wipes in the salon was expired.-Obtain new disinfectant wipes and monitor expiry dates.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • The hair salon had a large accumulation of hair left on the floor and there was a build up of debris in the cupboards. Empty pop cans and dirty capes were stored on the counters in the salon.-Please thoroughly clean the salon including cupboards and drawers.-Store clean and dirty items such as towels and capes in separate areas.
