- Dirty rag bins were not observed in each class room, as the staff were using reusable clothes to wipe the surfaces.Concerns were discussed with the operator and it was confirmed that they will be using the single use paper towels and will be discarded after each use.

- Some children’s sleeping mats/beds were observed to be placed too close together, with no space between children. This concern was discussed with the operator and was corrected during the inspection. The operator was reminded to ensure that sufficient space is maintained between children at rest so that childcare staff can readily attend to each child without stepping over other children, if required.

- The mechanical room located in classroom 8 was unlocked. The room was locked during the inspection.Please ensure the room is locked at all times so it is not accessible to children.
- 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
- A staff member was requested to demonstrate diapering procedures. Final Step sanitizer (quat sanitizer) was used to disinfect the diapering mat. A quat sanitizer is not an approved disinfectant for diapering surfaces.The staff member was educated onsite. Oxivir Plus is used to disinfect the diapering mats. There are now labels on the Oxivir bottles to indicate it is for diapering.

- 1. There was a rip in one of the diaper change pads. Please replace it to ensure a cleanable surface.2. Missing hand hygiene step after the disposal of dirty diapers and gloves, before redressing the child. Discard the dirty diaper and used gloves, and then perform hand hygiene before redressing the child to prevent re-contamination. It is suggested that each diaper change station be supplied with hand sanitizer to promote hand hygiene between donning and doffing gloves.

- The child proof device on the sink cabinet doors in the infant room was broken allowing access to chemical stored in the cabinet. Please replace child proof device.

- There is a small gap at the exit door in the kindergarten room. Please provide weather stripping to seal the gap.
