    • 04. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Non-Critical)?
      • Room 120 (Infant/Toddler):-The standalone wooden diaper change table in the washroom did not have a security belt. A security belt must be provided to prevent falls. -A bottle of beans did not have a secure lid. This was removed from use.-There were two cans of shaving cream being used for sensory play. Label indicated these were not to be used by children. These were removed from use.
    • 10. Is a properly supplied first aid kit provided and readily available?
      • Room 113 and Room 136:-First Aid kids in backpacks had expired antiseptic pads. Replace these with new pads and ensure your first aid kids meets the CSA Type 2: Basic First Aid Kit requirements.     • 18. Is the facility and equipment being maintained in a suitable manner (Non-Critical)?
      • Room 120:-The blue and brown diaper mats in the washroom next to the sink were cracked and worn. -Two blue sleeping mats in the storage area (one on the very top, one near the bottom) were worn and had split corners. Have these diaper and sleeping mats replaced to allow for proper cleaning. -The shelf in middle of room along dividing wall between the infant and toddler area had had a cracked and lifting top. -The shelf by the library door had a chipped top. Have these shelves repaired to prevent potential injury.Room 136:-Several sleeping mats were worn. Have these replaced to allow for proper cleaning.-There was a bin of natural bark and pieces of wood that staff indicated were intended to be discarded. The wood was split and falling apart. This is a splinter hazard, have this discarded as soon as possible.Room 113:-The laminate flooring in the main area, the smaller room and Dolphin 1 class were exposed and lifting at the edges and where the laminate overlapped. Laminate was also bubbling in the centre of the rooms. The edges and overlapped areas must be taped down and the bubbling must be smooth out to prevent tripping and injury.
    • 25. Are there adequate storage areas sufficient for the operation of the facility?
      • Room 113:-Hooks for personal items were less than 12 inches apart. Personal items for children must be stored at least 12 inches apart. Ensure the spacing is increased between personal items for each child to prevent spread of illness.

    • 24. Are sleeping supplies and areas sufficient to ensure client safety and comfort (Non-Critical)?
      • -There was not sufficient space put between mats while children were napping. Please ensure there is approximately 20inches of space between mats. Staff should be able to comfortably walk between mats. In addition children should be sleeping in a head-to-foot orientation with the child next to them.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • April 8: Bleach was measured to be >10,000 ppm. Disinfectant was corrected to 1000 ppm while on site. *Bleach solution was not labelled or in bottles labelled for different chemicals (Purexall). Please ensure that disinfectant bottles are labelled with chemical and concentration that is being used. OUTSTANDING.
    • 15. Is laundry being properly handled in a suitable manner?
      • Stackable washer and dryer installed in washroom area. *Please provide written laundry procedures *Dryer had broken plastic with sharp pieces.*No dryer vent was observed.Please ensure that dryer is properly vented to outside as required, and in good repair.

    • 03. Are clients at this facility being protected from hazards (Critical)?
      • Bleach solution was at 200 - 1000 ppm throughout which is sufficient for adequate disinfection of surfaces and diapering areas.*Bleach solution was not labelled or in bottles labelled for different chemicals (Purexall). Please ensure that disinfectant bottles are labelled with chemical and concentration that is being used.
    • 06. Are proper protocols being followed in regards to client care?
      • Suite 113 Diapering area:Diapering mat was ripped and not easily cleanable.Please replace the diapering mat to be in good repair and easy to clean.
    • 08. Is this facility properly constructed (Non-Critical)?
      • Infant/Toddler rooms: The floor at the entrance was cracked and in disrepair on toddler area. Please repair or replace the floor to be in good condition, easy to clean.
    • 20. Are indoor play areas and equipment sufficient and being properly maintained to ensure client safety (Non-Critical)?
      • Suite 136 Pre kinder room: Toy bins were noted to have debris in the bottom with toys disorganized.Please ensure that toys and bins are fully cleaned and disinfected at least weekly or when soiled. Toddler room: Mirror was not secure and could be a fall hazard.Please secure the mirror or remove.
    • 22. Is the plumbing system adequate and being properly maintained (Non-Critical)?
      • Suite 136 Prekinder washroom (Dedicated): Water was cold.Please ensure that the water available for hand washing is at a temperature that is supportive to hand washing (hot and cold water is required to be available).
    • 29. Are washrooms / bathing facilities properly constructed, maintained and supplied (Non-Critical)?
      • Infant/Toddler washroom: 1 toilet was not operational/flushing at time of inspection.Please repair the toilet to be in good repair.
