- 10. Is cleansing and antisepsis of skin and mucous membrane performed in accordance to written procedures and are suitable products being used?
- The 70% alcohol wipe currently used do not have a DIN or NPN. Within Canada, all antiseptic products must have a DIN or NPN in order for it to be used. Please ensure that alternative brand of alcohol wipes is purchased and contains a DIN or NPN.
- 12. Are personal services workers at the facility maintaining client records and where applicable, sterility documentation corresponding to that client?
- It was observed that documentation of product lot number and sterility was not being stapled to the waivers of the corresponding client. Please ensure that the lot number and sterility is being attached to the waivers. This practice can help communication between the operator and client if a product is recalled or an emergency situation occurs.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- The high-level disinfectant, PreEmpt, was expired as of 2025. The onsite manager ordered new high-level disinfectant and provided a copy of the receipt. The manager is aware that services that require a high-level disinfectant must be stopped until the non-expired product has been received. When the new product has been received, please ensure that a photograph is sent to verify that a non-expired high-level disinfectant is available for use.
