- There is no differentiating between what is used (dirty) and what is not used in the pedicure station drawers. Dremel sandpapers are stored with loose change in a container. Dremel bits are stored with sandpapers on the bits. Nail blocks are stored with a white substance in the drawer. Keep a clear separation of dirty from clean tools and ensure clean instruments are protected from contamination such as nail dust.

- There is more than one container of high level disinfectant being used in the facility but only one disinfection log sheet. The records must clearly show each poured disinfectant that is re-used being checked daily with a test strip.

- Waxing room storage places and supplies (scissors, tweezers) were not attended to and are still dirty. A few dremel bits and nail clippers used to cut length of acrylic nail appear to not have been cleaned at the manicure work stations.

- New disinfectants and test strips were ordered but the new (sealed) product is already expired (2023). Using expired product means product is being used past the reuse period - expiration date. Owner committed to contacting the supplier and exchanging product with non-expired product. One container is not expired and is being used currently.

- Single-use equipment such as toe separators, nail files and nail buffs were drying on a rack in the reprocessing area. Single-use equipment discarded.

- Dirty instruments (dremel machines, dremel bits and tweezers) are stored in open caddies and containers storing other supplies, contaminating all the surfaces the dirty instruments touch. Clean and disinfect all storage containers and caddies. Have a process in place to clean and disinfect all surfaces used in a personal service and protect clean supplies from contamination.

- Several dirty tools are stored at manicure workstations, in pedicure supply caddies, and in the waxing room, mainly dremel bits containing used sandpapers and not cleaned after use and tweezers. All tools reused on a client must be cleaned and disinfected prior to use on another client. One foot file in the clean bin contains debris. Two pedicure foot tubs were not cleaned after use.

High level disinfectants are being used passed expiry dates. Instruments such as dremel bits and tweezers are not cleaned and disinfected after use.

- Sugar scrub used for pedicures are left open in the pedicure caddies with wooden dispenser sticks left inside. Wooden dispenser sticks are intended to protect the bulk product and be discarded after dipping to prevent contamination of the bulk supply. Discard all opened and contaminated sugar scrubs.
