No records were observed for the reused Preempt CS20 disinfectant solution. **The minimum effective concentration of high-level disinfectants must be tested and verified each day that the disinfectant is used, using the test strips specified by the disinfectant manufacturer. 2. When asked, an employee advised that the contact time for Preempt CS20 was 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes according to manufacturer's specifications.**Follow manufacturer's recommendations for contact time to ensure disinfectant efficiency.3. Reusable semi-critical instruments such as cuticle and nail cutters were observed in the drawers of unoccupied nail booths. **Reusable semi-critical equipment must be cleaned and disinfected after use and in-between clients to reduce risks of contamination.

      • Used nail files were found in several nail stations. DO NOT REUSE FOAM NAIL FILES AS THESE ARE SINGLE USE ONLY AND TO BE DISCARDED AFTER USE.

      • 1. Operator was unable to identify between cleaned/used cuticle cutters at the nail stations. 2. Used drill bits are stored in an unlabeled glass container to transport for reprocessing. 3. Operator indicated used drill bits are soaked in alcohol before reprocessing.1. PROVIDE A PROPER CONTAINER TO STORE USED ITEMS FOR REPROCESSING. LABEL THE CONTAINER TO IDENTIFY ITS CONTENTS.2. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL TO SOAK THE USED ITEMS AS IT CAN CAUSE ANY ORGANIC MATTER PRESENT TO ADHERE TO THE INSTRUMENT AND MAKING IT MORE DIFFICULT TO CLEAN.

      • Washed and rinsed plastic baskets were stacked and being air dry on a towel that is wet.DO NOT STACK THE BASKETS WHEN AIR DRYING. CHANGE TOWELS AFTER EACH REPROCESSING USE AND AS NECESSARY. CLEAN AND DISINFECT THIS AREA DAILY AND AS NECESSARY.
