      • A personal services notification was not received. Please submit a personal services notification to Alberta Health Services.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • 1. Clean equipment were noted to be stored with soiled razor blade holder during the inspection. Photographs received few hours showing all reusable equipment was cleaned and stored properly.2. A damaged razor blade holder with tape was noted. This holder was straight and was not easy to clean. This was discarded during the inspection. Please acquire butterfly style razor blade holder.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • A low-level disinfectant was not observed in the facility. Photographs were received few hours after the inspection with Lysol spray. Please ensure to maintain manufacture instructed contact time.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. A high-level disinfectant to disinfect hot shave razors was not observed. Please acquire a high-level disinfectant. Please acquire high level disinfectant test strips and maintain testing records. The operator ordered PreEmpt CS 20 during the inspection with expected delivery for July 13, 2026. The operator was advised not to offer hot shave services until the high-level disinfectant is acquired.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • General cleaning is required in the facility. Hair were noted in all drawers. Photographs were received few hours after the inspection showing the facility have been cleaned and disinfected.

      • Facility specific written procedures were not observed at the time of inspection.
    • 05. Are written procedures reviewed and revised when required, and do they meet the requirements set out in the standards?
      • Written cleaning and disinfection procedures were not observed.Please create written cleaning and disinfection procedures.
    • 19. Is ultrasonic cleaning of reusable equipment being performed properly and when necessary?
      • An ultrasonic cleanser to clean hot shave razor blade was not observed at the time of inspection. Please acquire an ultrasonic cleanser.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • 1. A high-level disinfectant to disinfect hot shave razors was not observed. Please acquire a high-level disinfectant. Please acquire high level disinfectant test strips and maintain testing records. 2. The operator indicated that they use alcohol as a disinfectant for hot shave razor blade holder. Please note that alcohol does not have a DIN or MDL and is not considered a disinfectant. Please acquire a proper disinfectant with DIN or MDL, a word disinfectant written on it, and sporicidal claims.

      • Two compartment sinks were noted in the facility. These sinks were noted to be soiled. Please clean and disinfect both sinks.Please create a written dual-purpose sink.

      • An alcohol-based hand sanitizer was not observed. Please acquire an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with NPN or DIN number. Please use the hand sanitizer or perform hand washing between tasks.
    • 13. Is single-use or uncleanable equipment being used as intended (Critical)?
      • Two single use wax sticks with hair were noted inside the wax pot indicating that the single use items were being reused.Please be advised not to reuse single use items. Please discard single use items after each use.
    • 15. Is reusable equipment handled and stored properly (Critical)?
      • It was noted that used reusable devices were being stored in the barbicide solution. These devices were not being cleaned between clients. Buildup was noted on the razor blade holder stored in the barbicide solution. Please be advised to either clean and disinfect all reusable devices after each clients or store them in a designated soiled storage device container.

      • Reusable devices were not being cleaned and disinfected between clients. Buildup was noted on the razor blade holder stored in the barbicide solution. Please be advised to clean all reusable devices with soap and water and rinse with clean water and then disinfect using an appropriate disinfectant.

      • An ultrasonic cleanser to clean hot shave razor blade was not observed at the time of inspection. Please acquire an ultrasonic cleanser.

      • 1. The low-level disinfectant wipes container was noted to be empty. Work surfaces were not being disinfected between clients.Please acquire a low-level disinfectant to disinfect the work surfaces and maintain manufacturer's instructed contact time. 2. A high-level disinfectant to disinfect hot shave razors was not observed. Please acquire a high-level disinfectant. Please acquire high level disinfectant test strips and maintain testing records. 3. Hair tools were not fully submerged in the barbicide solution. It was noted that the barbicide containers were not large enough to fully submerge all hair tools. Please acquire a larger container that can fully submerge all hair devices in the barbicide solution.4. The operator indicated that they use alcohol as a disinfectant for hot shave razor blade holder. Please note that alcohol does not have a DIN or MDL and is not considered a disinfectant. Please acquire a proper disinfectant with DIN or MDL, a word disinfectant written on it, and sporicidal claims.

      • A sharps container to discard used razor blades was not observed. Please acquire sharps container.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Two single use wax sticks with hair were noted inside the wax pot indicating that double dipping is occurring.Please be advised to protect the bulk supply and do not double dip. Please discard wax sticks after each use.
    • 27. Is the facility maintained in a visibly clean state and are environmental surfaces cleaned and disinfected properly?
      • Hair were noted on the handles and inside of drawers. Please clean and disinfect the facility.
