- 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
- During the inspection it was noted that the facility had no written procedures for skin cleansing and responding to accidental cuts for the short haircut station. Short haircut station operator read and acknowledged the accidental cuts procedure form and filled out the skin cleansing procedures form.Please ensure all new staff review the written procedures for skin cleansing and accidental cuts.
- 17. Is reusable equipment cleaned properly (Critical)?
- During the inspection ready to use hair clippers were observed to have hair buildup between the bade and drive cap. Facility manager re-cleaned the hair clippers until no hair was observed. Please ensure that all tools are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition at all times.
- 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
- During the inspection it was observed that one service station had hair combs that were not fully submerged in the barbicide disinfecting solution. Operator topped off the solution so that all parts of the hair combs were fully submerged in the barbicide disinfecting solution. Please ensure that all parts of the hair combs are fully submerged in the disinfectant solution to ensure that adequate disinfection occurs.
