    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • Several ants are observed in the kitchen near the stove and behind the cabinets. Ensure that pest control measures are taken to reduce or eliminate the presence of pests in the facility.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • The kitchen exterior door had gap at the bottom - outstanding from previous inspection. Ensure the gap is closed off to prevent entry of pests.The double door in the main hall had large gaps below the doors. There were weatherstripping materials present waiting for installment. The door closest to the washrooms requires proper weatherstripping to close off gap at the bottom.
    • 21. Is the facility properly constructed and maintained in a state of good repair to allow for the safe and sanitary handling of food?
      • A gap between the floor and the wall is observed behind the stove which is not smooth and easy to clean. Ensure that the gap is sealed to be smooth, resistant to moisture and easily cleanable.

      • The kitchen exterior door had gap at the bottom - outstanding from previous inspection. The door closest to the washrooms requires proper weatherstripping to close off gap at the bottom.Please install pest control measures such as traps throughout the facility to monitor for activity.A pest control monitoring program is needed to monitor for any activity on a monthly basis - a template will be sent to the operator.Mouse droppings were present on the bottom of the double door shelf adjacent to the exterior kitchen door. Please clean and sanitize area.

      • Outstanding (June 20, 2024): 1. During the inspection, gaps were observed at the bottom of exit doors. Some doors were not equipped with any weatherstripping. 2. Mice droppings observed in the kitchen area near the exit doors. Traps have been installed, but there are no records confirming that monthly pest control inspection are conducted. Action required: (1) Provide proper weather stripping on all exit doors, ensuring that no gap is available. (2) Have a written monthly pest control plan, and ensure records are available onsite for review upon request.
