    • 03. Are facility-specific written procedures established to adequately describe safe and sanitary practices?
      • Written procedures were completed during the inspection. Written procedures for cleansing skin have been completed for the following services: -eyelash extension -eyelash tint -eyelash liftReprocessing sink will not be used for handwashing therefore written procedures for sink decontamination is not required.
    • 08. Is hand hygiene performed by the personal services worker when required, in a proper manner and are provisions available to perform hand hygiene?
      • Expired and/or improperly labelled alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) was discarded upon request. Staff will wash their hands in the bathroom sink.Recommended obtaining ABHR for ease of use. Alcohol based hand rub (ABHR) can be used if hands are visibly clean. The alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) must have an alcohol content between 60 to 90%, have an NPN or DIN issued by Health Canada and not be expired.
    • 20. Is reusable equipment disinfected properly?
      • The high-level disinfectant (PreEmpt CS20) was expired (April 10, 2024). Product was discarded upon request.

      • A high-level disinfectant (HLD) is not available and is required for disinfection of semi-critical equipment (i.e. eyelash extension tweezers, reuseable silicone eyepads etc.). Purchase a high-level disinfectant (HLD). Ensure proper claims are on the label.
    • 26. Are cosmetic products appropriate for their intended use and being handled properly?
      • Expired cosmetic products were discarded upon request.Requested discontinue use of refectocil hair dye for tinting eyebrows/eyelashes as the label indicates "not suitable for eyebrow/eyelash tinting and to do so may cause blindness".Do not use "The Lash Shop Lift Lotion" for eyebrow lamination as the product is only intended for use on eyelash as per labelling on the package.Decanted cosmetic product were labelled upon request at the time of inspection.
