Inspection summary
Ferraro Foods has been inspected 10 times by Interior Health Authority since January 15, 2015. The most recent inspection, on December 9, 2025, recorded 1 infraction.
7 of 10 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Cleaning and sanitizing and Food temperature control.
The number of infractions per inspection has stayed roughly the same over time.
What these findings mean
Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.
Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk
Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on December 9, 2025. For example:
3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?
Food temperature controlHigher risk
Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.
Recorded 2 times across 2 separate inspections, most recently on November 29, 2023. For example:
4 Are proper freezing and thawing procedures followed?

Amazing grocery store for a small town. Always a good selection of fruit & veg from local suppliers. The deli is great and they make fresh sandwhiches/soups for lunches along with a good selection of pre-made meals. The in store butcher is the icing on the cake though, such a great selection of meat and they're always happy to help with any specific requests.

I came in for dinner. I left with enough ground beef to qualify as a regional supplier. This glorious meat torpedo has completely changed my meal planning. Tonight it’s burgers. Tomorrow it’s tacos. Then spaghetti and meatballs, homemade chili, shepherd’s pie, stuffed peppers, smash burgers, lasagna, meatloaf, cabbage rolls, Korean beef bowls, nachos, sloppy joes, meat sauce, breakfast hash, homemade sausage experiments, and probably enough leftovers to negotiate peace between hungry relatives. Need meatballs? Done. Need 87 tacos? Covered. Need to feed an entire hockey team that forgot to RSVP? This log whispers, “I’ve got this.” The best part is carrying it through the store. Every shopper gives you that look that says, “This person has either a very large family… or a very ambitious freezer.” Five stars. Incredible value, endless possibilities, and just enough ground beef to make my ancestors proud and my freezer slightly nervous.

Very disappointing. As visitors passing through for just one day, we bought a box of raspberries that was completely covered in mold. The store is well stocked with everyday essentials, and you'll likely find what you need. However, there is no hot food section. Only cold sandwiches and salads are available, with some microwave heating food.

For a small town to have this kind of grocery store is awesome! Love supporting a local grocer and they have everything you could imagine.

They got me into Sandwiches! Great sandwiches for such good price! They heat up bread with cheese and you can choose from all kinds of veges and sauces!
