    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • Soap and paper towel dispensers at the sink in the bakery section was empty at the time of inspection. Both soap and paper towel dispensers were refilled during the inspection.Hand washing sink at the deli station was fully equipped for proper hand hygiene procedures.

      • Observed staff preparing fruits trays passes a transparent PVC strawberry tray a few times through running water at the hand washing station with no proper washing of the fruits. Advised staff to transfer fruits to a strainer and rewash to ensure they are thoroughly washed and processed to prevent any potential foodborne illness that could be associated with ready-to eat food products such as fruit trays. Strawberries transferred to a strainer and rewashed in the sink at the back during the inspection.

      • Observed apron placed on cutting board at the fruit tray prep table. This was removed during the inspection.

    • 07. Do food handlers ensure that food is protected from contamination (unless noted elsewhere)(Critical)?
      • Observed food boxes on the Floor in the Walk-In Freezer at the bakery unit. Staff stored boxes on crates during inspection.Ensure that all Food Items are stored off the Floor at all times in order to prevent potential contamination.
    • 13. Are properly operating hand washing sink(s) accessible to food handlers, located in suitable areas, and stocked with appropriate hand washing supplies?
      • The sensor faucet of the hand washing station at the deli unit not in good working condition. Water dispensing from the tap not adequate for proper hand hygiene procedures. Manager contacted plumber to fix the plumbing issue during the inspection. Staff are to use the hand washing sink at the bakery unit pending when repair of the deli hand wash station is completed.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • The ceiling mounted fly trap at the back of the store by the staff washroom was filled with dead flies. Manager removed fly trap and disposed it into the garbage during the inspection.Ensure fly traps are routinely checked during the season and are disposed as needed.Facility may plan to find a workable solution to control the flies population during the season.
    • 23. Is the facility maintained in a clean and sanitary condition?
      • The area around the fans in the produce cooler appeared dusty at the time of inspection.*Clean to ensure food items stored in the cooler are protected from any contamination.

    • 04. Does the operator use approved methods for cleaning and sanitizing equipment, utensils, and surfaces?
      • - The wall mounted potato slicer not maintained in a sanitary condition. Staff from the deli department sent Photos of the cleaned potato slicer via email few hours after inspection was completed.200ppm quats solution was available as a food contact surfaces' sanitizer. QUAT sanitizer test strips were available.
    • 16. Is the facility free of unapproved animals, vermin and/or insects (unless noted elsewhere), and maintained to prevent the entry or harbourage of pests?
      • A few flies were observed at the back in the deli department. Observed that the installed fly light was not working at the time of inspection. Staff mentioned that the pest control company plan to replace the equipment.Ensure to find a workable solution to control the flies population.
    • 22. Are utensils and equipment maintained in a condition and a manner that ensures the safe handling of food?
      • Ice scoop placed on water damaged cardboard. Scoop was removed and place on a disposable packaging plastic plate during the inspection.Ensure to protect utensils used for dispensing food from contamination.
