Inspection summary

Funky Goat Pizza has been inspected 5 times by Interior Health Authority since December 8, 2020. The most recent inspection, on November 5, 2025, recorded 1 infraction.

1 of 5 inspections on record found no infractions at all. In the past 12 months there was 1 inspection with 1 infraction recorded. The higher-risk findings here relate to: Food temperature control, Cleaning and sanitizing and Protecting food from contamination.

Recent inspections have recorded more infractions than earlier ones, so it is worth reading the latest reports closely.

What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Food temperature controlHigher risk

Bacteria multiply fastest between about 4 °C and 60 °C (40 °F to 140 °F). Inspectors check that cold food stays cold, hot food stays hot, cooked food is cooled quickly, and that staff have accurate thermometers. Temperature problems are one of the most common causes of food poisoning, so these are treated as critical findings.

Recorded once on November 5, 2025. For example: 2 Are proper temperature controls maintained to ensure safe storage and display of foods?

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on July 3, 2024. For example: 3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?

  • Protecting food from contaminationHigher risk

This covers how food is stored, prepared and displayed: raw meat kept away from ready-to-eat food, food covered and stored off the floor, and nothing dripping or splashing into it. Cross-contamination from raw to cooked food is a direct route for salmonella and E. coli.

Recorded once on March 3, 2022. For example: 5 Are the premises and equipment properly maintained and operated in a sanitary manner (i.e. ongoing maintenance)?

  • Food safety training and certificationLower risk

Most jurisdictions require a certified food handler or manager on site, and some require allergen or food-worker training. These findings mean the paperwork or the trained person was missing at the time. They do not by themselves mean food was handled unsafely.

Recorded once on February 15, 2023. For example: 5 Are the FOODSAFE training requirements being met?

  • Other findingsLower risk

Findings that do not fit the categories above, such as follow-ups that confirm an earlier violation was corrected, or requirements specific to this type of facility.

Recorded once on July 3, 2024. For example: 1 Does the facility have proper monitoring supplies?

10/10 Absolutely delicious. Best Vegan pizza I've had and from a shop that doesn't even specialize in vegan pizza!! Amazing Fast and friendly service!

The best pizza this side of Naples?! Skipping this spot would be a huuuuge mistake - I eat here once a week and that’s only once because I’m trying to have some damn restraint. Funky goat pizza is pan fried, has killer toppings, and tip top feature creations every month served by friendly local folks.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What a great find! The pizza was absolutely delicious, and the service was even better. We arrived after the kitchen had officially closed, and they still went out of their way to make us dinner, which was incredibly appreciated. The staff member who helped us was so personable and friendly. We really enjoyed chatting with him and felt genuinely welcomed. It's rare to find that combination of great food and great hospitality. Thank you for going above and beyond for us. If we're back in the area, we'll definitely be returning! 🍕😊

The pizza is phenomenal, their monthly special offerings are always worth trying! Good value for the cost. The staff are friendly and fast, my only complaint is that they're very lazy with their chicken wings. They usually arrive rubbery and poorly sauced or seasoned, the wings are definitely an afterthought for the company which is fair since they are a pizza joint, but if you aren't going to make sure every offering is good then just take it off the menu no? But again that's my ONLY complaint so don't let that stop you, if you haven't given them a try absolutely do!

We get funky goat a lot more than I would like to admit. We have always had great experiences with them and the pizza is always so good. We ordered the feature pizza, which was “street corn” but on pizza. It was soooo unbelievably good, I wish they would have it on their menu permanently!!
