What these findings mean

Health authorities word their violations differently, so we group them by what they mean for food safety. Higher-risk findings are the ones inspectors treat as critical, because they can directly make someone sick.

  • Cleaning and sanitizingHigher risk

Anything that touches food, such as cutting boards, dishes and utensils, must be washed, rinsed and sanitized. Inspectors check dishwasher temperatures, sanitizer strength and how wiping cloths are stored. Poor sanitizing lets bacteria survive from one use to the next.

Recorded once on March 3, 2022. For example: 3 Are food contact surfaces, utensils and equipment washed and sanitized in a manner that removes/prevents contamination?

  • Handwashing and staff hygieneHigher risk

Hands are the main way germs like norovirus move from people to food. Inspectors look for stocked, accessible handwashing sinks, staff washing hands when required, hair restraints, and sick employees being kept away from food. Gaps here can spread illness quickly.

Recorded once on March 3, 2022. For example: 7 Are there handwashing stations available and properly supplied?

We visited the distillery after dinner. Very personable service, we were immediately taken care of. The drinks menu is varied with a focus on cocktails using their locally produced spirits and liquors. I had a "Smooth Operator" with Fernie Fog Liquor. It was perfectly mixed and appealingly presented, see the picture. Taste-wise it was balanced very well, a pleasure to enjoy! Especially noteworthy: The dog-friendly patio, which is always commendable.

The cocktails and mock tails that we had here were all amazing! The ticket to ride was the best espresso martini that my friend has ever had, it had some light gram cracker undertones that were amazing! The steady eddy mocktail was also a favorite and three of us got it. I could sip that for days. The place is cute, the servers are friendly and helpful. Great place to pop in for a drink, or two, or five.

Was absolutely delicious. Enjoyed the flight drinks and our drinks after those flights. Caesar was absolutely delicious. Spicy and tangy and better than most we’ve enjoyed in Calgary.
